Even though I’m not a huge proponent of juice cleanses, fasts, starvation schemes, etc. sometimes a gal just needs to consume less things that resemble this:(why yes that is an obscenely large amount of bacon in my carbonara…and so what if I topped it with yet another egg…) and drink a few more things that look like this:
Bright and revitalizing, this green juice is a bit like drinking a salad – but a seriously refreshing and tasty one!
For one large glass of green goodness:
3 kale leaves (stems removed)
1/4 cup fresh mint
1/4 cup parsley
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1 cup organic, natural apple juice
1 T good maple syrup
1/8 t cayenne pepper
There are so many variations of the mighty green juice – I even read one recipe that added a diakon radish. Play with the ingredients as you please – add berries, other vegetables – have fun with it! And there really should be little to no excuses for not trying this when you can fix it right in a blender – no fancy juicer needed.
To be perfectly honest though, man (or woman) cannot exist on green juice alone. But it sure makes for a great start to the day (and year!).
