Cherry & Plum Jam

There’s something so satisfying about making homemade jam, and the absolute best part – it couldn’t be simpler!  This sweet’n’tart summer-y spread is not only the perfect accompaniment to your morning toast routine but also shines when paired with grilled chicken or pork. All you need is..
1 1/2 pounds dark skinned plums (about 6 or so)
1 cup sweet cherries
1 cup sugar
3/4 t allspice
1/4 t cinnamon

Remove the pit from the cherries and quarter and pit the plums.  Place all ingredients in a heavy bottomed saucepan and stir to combine.Cover and place over low heat until juices have formed – about 5 minutes.  Uncover and raise the heat to medium.  Cook until the jam is thick and the fruit is broken down – this could take about 25 minutes.  Be sure to stir often so it doesn’t stick!  Transfer to jars or a bowl and cool. This will keep for about a month or so in the refrigerator – if it lasts that long!
