Day 6: Festive Cocktails (Part 2)

With holiday shopping left to do I set out after work today to check a few things off the ol “to do” list – bad. idea.  It was the perfect storm of bad weather, empty shelves and cranky last minute shoppers… my holiday spirit needed a lift and I knew just what to do – whip up this frothy Peppermint treat.

I’m not sure how this drink came to be a holiday classic in our household but I do have fond memories of watching my Dad and Uncle Pete blending them for their ladies after an evening of merriment…they’re a tad on the sweet side but quite delicious!

For one refreshingly festive minty drink you’ll need:

DSC_00131 oz. half & half
1 oz. creme de cacao
1 oz. creme de menthe
Ice

Gather ingredients in a cocktail shaker and vigorously shake with plenty of ice. Strain into a glass.  Personally, I like to blend the ingredients so it becomes more of a milkshake – quite festive if you ask me!

And what, pray tell, does day 7 have in store?  Holiday recipes of course! Let’s see what Hillary is cookin’ up…
