Good morning and happy New Year everyone! Time to get back on the health train. Here is the meal plan for day 1 of our three day cleanse — of course you can modify any of these items to match your taste, but these are good things to start with! Stay tuned tomorrow and Friday for more cleansing goodness.
Breakfast
Green Juice #1
You will need:
5 medium or 3 large kale leaves
1 handful spinach
1 handful parsley
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup water
Combine all ingredients in the bowl of a food processor or a blender. Blend until liquified. Strain the juice through cheesecloth or a paper towel over a sieve — it is extremely green! Make sure to squeeze all of the juice out of the towel or cheesecloth. Voila, green juice at home!
Warm Breakfast Quinoa – refer to the recipe we previously posted, but use almond milk instead of rice milk!
Lunch
Carrot Ginger Soup – you’ve already made this!
Avocado Toast
You will need:
1/2 a ripe avocado
1 slice whole grain bread
Salt, pepper, a squeeze of lemon and a pinch of red pepper flakes
Mash together all of the ingredients except for the red pepper flakes. Toast the bread, spread the avocado mixture on the toast and sprinkle the red pepper flakes on top. Yum!
Dinner
Rustic Cabbage Soup – you’ve already made this!
Dessert
Warm Spiced Almond Milk
You will need:
1 cup almond milk
1 tsp agave or maple syrup
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan or microwave safe mug. Heat up either on the stove or for 1 minute in the microwave. What a warm and cozy way to end your evening!
